My dear Grindle,
The meeting of the Opium Advisory Committee of the League of Nations ended last Saturday. The question of the use of opium in our Far Eastern Possessions and Far Eastern Possessions of some other Powers was not gone into. It was touched upon one or twice, but in view of a general resolution which was adopted by the Committee recommending that Governments should be invited to furnish the League with an estimate of their animal opium requirements, it was decided not to go into the question at the present meeting.
MacElderry worked like a horse and rendered
invaluable service,
Yours sincerely,
malcolm sclerigne
